At the newest model – the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) – the six-cylinder engine without turbocharging sits in the rear position and has been tilted forward by 5.5 degrees which creates more leeway for the underbody diffuser. The engine has a displacement of 4,2 liters.
Depending on the BoP classification, the classic boxer seated in the rear delivers a maximum of 565 hp (416 kW). The engine is based on the current boxer engine used in the Porsche 911 (992).
When sitting behind the steering wheel one may realize that the driver’s seat in the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) moved further into the center of the car. Furthermore, the side protection and welded-in roll cage were updated to ensure even higher driving safety. The longitudinal adjustment of the pedal and the steering wheel were maintained to be as adaptable as possible for the driver.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) has a six-speed sequential constant-mesh gearbox which is similar to the current Cup Porsche. The steering wheel is an advancement of the volant in the previous model. In the new Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) a 10,3 inches-long color display is included.

For the first time, the car’s underbody is fully paneled. This aerodynamic “race underfloor” concept ensures an optimized flow of the diffuser at the rear and less air resistance.
Rear wings with “swan neck” mounts also ensure less air resistance. On the front axle, modern double wishbones with adjustable ride height are built in.
Porsche itself wrote: “The KW shock absorbers were further improved and offer five adjustment settings.” They already gained racing experience in the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) at the legendary Nordschleife of the Nurburgring.
