It’s done: The KW Clubsport 3-way coilover kit for the Toyota GR Yaris is now available for order and our “ Nürburgring Comrade Misha Charoudin ” is really excited .
One of the first KW Clubsport 3-way coilovers for the Toyota GR Yaris was recently installed at Raeder Motorsport in Meuspath.
Numerous drivers of a Toyota GT86 and the current Toyota GR Supra opt for our KW Clubsport coilovers when retrofitting a suspension . It’s no different with the GR Yaris.
In the past few months, not a day has passed without one or the other GR-Yaris pre-orderer asking for a KW Clubsport coilover kit here in Fichtenberg .
Toyota’s new homologation model for the World Rally Championship falls somewhat out of the automotive zeitgeist. While other automobile manufacturers are promoting electromobility, the Japanese inspire with a three-door all-wheel-drive compact sports car that celebrates decades of Toyota rally history on the first few kilometers.
The driving forces of the compact all-wheel drive can be managed in a ratio of 60:40 over 50:50 up to 30:70. It is shifted with a six-speed manual transmission. And the three-cylinder turbo engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters mobilizes 261 hp.
Misha couldn’t wait to finally unleash the Yaris GR with the KW Clubsport coilover kit.
The aluminum uniball bearings of the KW Clubsport coilover kit, milled from solid, allow the camber and also the caster on the front axle to be more aggressive if desired.
The KW Clubsport 3-way coilover kit for the Toyota GR Yaris also gives you the freedom to set a stepless lowering. According to the parts certificate, a stepless lowering of 25 to 45 millimeters can be selected on the front and rear axles. But on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the “lowest pace” is not required …
KW automotive develops and produces various dampers and complete chassis for numerous customer sport programs of the automobile manufacturers.
For example, all Toyota GR Supra GT4s are homologated with a KW Competition racing suspension. The KW Clubsport suspensions also have a damper and adjustment technology originating from motorsport.
The valve technology of the KW Clubsport 3-way coilover kit for the GR Yaris is somewhat different than, for example, a KW Clubsport 3-way coilover kit for the BMW M2 . The adjustable low-speed and high-speed compression valves are attached to the side of the spring struts and rear axle dampers made of stainless steel .
The low-speed stimuli that arise from steering and braking, for example, can be fine-tuned with the purple adjustment wheel with 13 clicks directly on the KW Clubsport shock absorber and rear axle damper. Separately, the high-speed compression forces can be adjusted with 14 clicks on the golden wheel.
High-speed suggestions for the damper are typically driving over bumps, curbs or transverse joints. The rebound stage, which among other things also influences the rebound of the chassis, is set on the KW Clubsport coilover kit directly on the piston rod with 16 clicks.
While the purple wheel on the rear axle damper is firmly integrated into the piston rod holder, the wheel is inserted into the piston rod for adjustment on the front axle.
We recommend our KW Clubsport coilovers mainly to track day enthusiasts who regularly drive a near-series road car on race tracks. In contrast to motorsport suspensions, our clubsport suspensions have a parts certificate.
Compared to our street suspensions from the Street Performance program, the clubsport suspensions are optimized for track day use.
They also have a tighter design (different valve spring rates, piston rods, main springs, …) in order to perform well on race tracks with near-production cars.
With the adjustable multi-valve damper technology of a Clubsport coilover kit, it is still easy to adjust the setup of the chassis to a road setting and you can, so to speak, easily drive home from the Nürburgring Nordschleife to Munich via the autobahn, for example.
